Mental Health Counseling
At Pilsen Wellness Center, we provide comprehensive mental health services tailored for adults, children, and adolescents. Our Counseling services help participants improve their well-being by offering a safe, confidential space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a therapist. The goal is to foster personal growth, resolve emotional difficulties, and develop effective coping strategies for life's challenges.
If you or your loved ones are dealing with depression, anxiety or school struggles, our team of skilled therapists is here to help. Bilingual clinicians are also available.

Mental Health Crisis Care
The Mental Health Crisis Care program is a service designed to provide immediate support and stabilization to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The program offers rapid intervention, ensuring that individuals facing severe emotional distress, receive timely care in a supportive environment. The Mental Health Crisis Care Program provides Crisis Stabilization Services on a 24-hour basis, 365 days per year. Services are offered on or offsite.

The Mental Health Crisis Care Program is guided by a compassionate, person-centered approach, focusing on de-escalation and rapid stabilization. The program emphasizes the empowerment for all individuals, helping them regain control and find hope during a time of profound distress.

”Community Support Team - CST
The Community Support Team (CST) program provides structured services to individuals diagnosed with a severe mental illness. It aims to reduce the frequency of hospitalizations and specifically supports persons isolated from other services.
We assist individuals with chronic mental illness by offering community-based services that enhance independence, self-sufficiency, and long-term health.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services - PSR
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR) program is designed to assist individuals living with serious mental health conditions in improving their ability to function in daily life and into the community. Psychosocial skills are critical for maintaining emotional health, managing daily stressors, and building successful relationships. For individuals dealing with mental health issues or trauma, enhancing psychosocial skills can lead to improved functioning, greater independence, and a higher quality of life.
The program incorporates individualized program participant goals to be attained through an organized program of daily activities.

First Episode Psychosis Program - FEPP
The First Episode Psychosis Program (FEPP), also known as FIRST.IL, is the Pilsen Wellness Center program funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health.
FEPP is a specialized treatment approach that helps individuals who are between the ages of 14 to 40 and who have had a treated or untreated psychotic illness for no more than 18 months.
Participants must also be willing to choose at least two treatment components:
Individual counseling
Psychiatric care
Supported employment/education
Family psychoeducation
Recovery support
Early treatment is crucial. With the right care, individuals experiencing psychotic illness can and do improve!

Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness - PATH
The Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Program, provides community-based outreach and referrals for mental health, substance use, case management and other supportive services, to address the needs of adults ages 18-65+ and families, with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders, who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.

Mental Health Juvenile Justice Program - MHJJs
At Pilsen Wellness Center, our MHJJ Program assists young people aged 18 and under who are either involved with the juvenile justice system or are at risk of becoming involved.
We provide support through court and detention advocacy, and by connecting your child to counseling and additional services.

Individualized Placement and Support - IPS
The Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) Program provides supported employment services to adults currently receiving mental health treatment. IPS staff networks with the local businesses to establish collaborative relationships and explore potential employment opportunities.
Using a Job Preferences Inventory tool, staff identify consumer preferences for work hours and settings, career fields, employment readiness, as well as present strengths, abilities, and weaknesses. IPS staff also offers benefits counseling to address consumer concerns involving possible benefits loss once stable employment is secured.

Drop-In Center
The Drop-In Center Program, supports individuals in recovery by promoting empowerment, personal growth, and responsibility. This community-based program helps participants work toward greater independence in the Pilsen Wellness Center Southeast Chicago site.
The center offers daily activities such as game and movie nights to encourage socialization, as well as skills development workshops on topics like healthy cooking, money management, and computer literacy. With a focus on recovery and community support, the program provides a safe, welcoming space for individuals.

Trauma Informed Care Counseling - TICC
The Trauma Informed Care Counseling program expands mental health therapy and case management services to adults and youth with a history of trauma, who possess few or non-existent access to healthcare options in the Lower West Site and Gage Park communities. Services are offered in English or Spanish.

The program is designed to address the unique needs of individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. By employing a trauma-informed approach, clinicians create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered. Additionally, the program connects clients to essential community resources, providing holistic care that addresses both mental health and socio-economic challenges.
